In January 2023, Gioia Group Spa was founded—a food retail company specializing in basketball that has the Cioccolatitaliani and Bun Burgers brands in its portfolio.

The new entity is the result of the Ferrieri Family’s holding company (Gesa Srl – 2009) and focuses on diversification.

The group’s vision is to develop organized chain restaurant projects related to comfort food, with the aim of giving special moments to consumers through a diverse and inclusive food experience that is innovative and sustainable.

Cioccolatitaliani

In 2009, the Ferrieri family, after 40 years of experience in the world of confectionery, founded CioccolatItaliani, the first Italian retail format focused entirely on the world of chocolate.

2019

Bun Burgers

In 2019, he founded Bun Burgers, a fast food chain specializing in Smashed Burgers whose philosophy revolves entirely around the concept of BUNBelievable: everything around the brand is incredible, the world we live in, the people we know, and the little everyday things.

2022 - 2024

Fra Diavolo

In 2022, the group acquired a majority stake in the Fra Diavolo pizza chain, tripling its size from 8 to 27 locations. Following these significant results, Fra Diavolo was sold to Alto Partners SGR.

2025

Futura

Gioia Group and Luca Pezzetta are opening Futura Pizzeria Romana in Milan, a new Milanese venture dedicated to contemporary Roman-style pizza. The star of the menu is the 160-gram round pizza—thin, light, and crispy.

2026

JB Burger

In 2026, JB BURGER was born from the partnership between Joe Bastianich and Bun Burgers: “With JB Burger, we want to raise the bar even higher and create something that leaves a lasting impression: a smash burger that’s truly different from anything else on the market, one that tells a story—my story, made up of travels, culinary discoveries, encounters, and unique flavors.” ---Joe Bastianich
